Student Training

WordPlay provides student training for both undergraduate and graduate students. Working in the lab is a great way to gain valuable research experience and learn more about developmental psychology. Check out the information below to see how you can get involved.

Undergraduate Students

WordPlay usually accepts new undergraduate research assistants at the beginning of each semester. If you are interested in interviewing for a spot in our lab, contact Dr. Behrend at dbehrend@uark.edu. Everyone who works in the WordPlay lab must be dedicated, enjoy working with children, and have a professional demeanor. Working in the lab is sometimes hard work, but should also be fun and rewarding.

Graduate Students

The University of Arkansas Psychology Department offers graduate training in experimental and clinical psychology. More information and application materials are available online here. If you are interested in WordPlay, feel free to contact Dr. Behrend about the possibility of pursuing your Ph.D. as one of his graduate students. We are always interested in receiving applications from qualified students.
